Biography and Credentials
Elizabeth G. Handy MS, LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) who is also certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Ms. Handy received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from New York University, New York, N.Y. and a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Community Counseling from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland. She also completed post graduate work at the University of Maryland in Couple and Family Counseling.
Ms. Handy has worked with acutely mentally ill patients at the University of Maryland Psychiatric Research Center, multiple private and public practices including Oasis the Center for Mental Health, the United States Naval Academy, and the emergency room at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Ms. Handy also has ten years of experience as a Lieutenant Training Officer and paramedic in Yarmouth, Maine. Her counseling and paramedic experience demonstrates that she is an accomplished and ethical counselor and clinician.
Ms. Handy is married and has three children ages 25, 22, and 19. The oldest children are University of Maryland at College Park graduates and serve with Teach for America. The youngest is a Midshipman at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at Troy , N.Y.
